Liberty Lake Day Camp Premieres 2025 Video Yearbook

This article was originally published by Liberty Lake Day Camp as part of its official announcement. Read the original release here: Official 2025 Video Yearbook release announcement

Bordentown, NJ — December 24, 2025 — Just as the holiday school break begins, Liberty Lake Day Camp is proudly releasing its 2025 Video Yearbook, offering families, campers, and alumni a powerful look back at a summer defined by growth, connection, and confidence.
The annual Video Yearbook captures the daily rhythm of camp life — from outdoor adventures and creative programming to leadership development and moments of genuine friendship. More than a highlight reel, the video reflects the emotional milestones that make summer camp a transformative experience for children.

“For our families, this video gives a ‘sneak peek’ of the story of who their child and friends became over the summer,” said Andy Pritikin, Founder and Director of Liberty Lake Day Camp. “It shows confidence gained, friendships formed, and challenges overcome — In today’s world of A.I. and automation, Summer Camp is more important than ever, because of those REAL moments.”

A Window Into Camp Life
Throughout the video, viewers see campers participating in team sports, creative arts, waterfront activities, and group traditions that reinforce Liberty Lake’s values-driven approach. Each segment highlights how structured fun, supportive staff, and a strong sense of community intertwine together to create meaningful experiences.

Parents often describe the Video Yearbook as a unique opportunity truly see camp through their child’s eyes — from moments of independence to joyful reunions with friends. While campers may watch the video multiple times, it is recommended that parents make time to watch the 27 minute video with their kids, once through.

Celebrating Growth, Inclusion, and Belonging
The 2025 Video Yearbook also reflects Liberty Lake Day Camp’s ongoing commitment to inclusion. The video features campers of all abilities fully integrated into daily programming, reinforcing the camp’s belief that every child deserves to feel accepted, supported, and connected.

As a camp recognized for its inclusive culture and proactive staff training, these moments remain central to Liberty Lake’s mission.

A Tradition That Connects Generations

For alumni and longtime families, the Video Yearbook serves as a bridge between past and present. Former campers often revisit the video to reconnect with traditions they once loved, while current families gain a deeper appreciation for the community their children are part of.

Preparing to embark on their 25th summer season, Liberty Lake Day Camp continues to celebrate the moments that define childhood summers — curiosity, courage, and connection.

The 2025 Video Yearbook is now available for viewing and will remain accessible to families, alumni, and staff through Liberty Lake Day Camp’s official News & Updates section, as well as multiple social platforms- Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

Liberty Lake Day Camp 2012 PRICE FREEZE - Early Bird Enrollment!

This morning I woke up and read the front page of the NY Times- and it wasn’t pretty.  Unfortunately, the economy doesn’t seem any better today than it was two years ago, and consumer confidence continues to lag behind.  Since 2006, Liberty Lake has been fortunate to have the same number of campers each summer- despite the economy, unemployment, etc.

We are tremendously appreciative of your patronage over this time, and sympathetic to your financial situation- We are all in the same boat- all of our expenses have risen, while revenues have not.

With that in mind, we have decided to FREEZE PRICES at Liberty Lake.

The prices for 2012 are the same prices that have been in effect since October 1, 2011, and we will hold these prices until we see an uptick in the economy.  It is our goal to be partners with you in raising your children, and we want to do everything we can on our end to continue our relationship in the future.

If you Re-Enroll before the end of September, you are guaranteed the cheapest rate possible, and get the first opportunity to request friends in your child's group- PLEASE REMEMBER that our system wipes our all of the prior year's friend requests, and you need to enter them again to be placed into the same group with them.  Also, the Early Bird Rate becomes SUPER Early Bird if you choose the option to pay in full by November 15, and receive and additional 5% discount.  Besides that option, there are monthly payment options, as well as simply putting down a fully refundable deposit now, and paying the balance by April 1, 2012.

This is the link for the 2012 Early Bird Re-Enrollment Application:

And if you’re in the mood to be filling things out today, this is the link to petition the DEP to have a public hearing on the local Water Management Plan which includes the gigantic warehouse development behind Liberty Lake:

Last week was one of the best ever at Liberty Lake!  Our latest issue of the Liberty News will be uploaded with the other Summer Issues shortly- Check them out:

And don’t miss out on the amazing pictures that we upload every day onto our CampMinder photo album (password protected).  Just log into CampMinder to view the photos by day, and by category:

The BEST OF THE WEEK are uploaded onto our Facebook Fanpage as well:

Next week should be amazing- kicking off with our 10th Annual Ga-Ga Tournament- Somebody is coming home tomorrow afternoon with a FOUR FOOT MEGA-TROPHY- Consider this your warning…
Thank you as always for entrusting your most prized possessions with us- It is an honor to be your child’s summer home!

No More Snow Days!

Best Email of the day from last week, the night before yet another snow storm:

"My kids want to have school tomorrow!  They have already used up all of their snow days, and last year the extra days were added at the end -> they missed out on preweek."

"They don’t want that to happen again."

Teen Leadership at Camp!

Unfortunately, much of what kids learn in school is not essential to their future. For the most part, school curriculums are preparing kids to take high-stakes standardized tests rather than preparing them for the realities and challenges of the 21st century. Liberty Lake’s Teen Leadership Programs, the 9th Grade Leader in Training (LIT) Program and 10th Grade Counselor in Training (CIT) Program, provide teens with useful skills and knowledge that they can use for the rest of their lives.

While not every teen needs to be able to solve a quadratic equation, most teens would benefit from learning how to set goals, make decisions, manage stress and solve conflicts. This is not to say that math, social studies and science are not important, but the preoccupation with student’s academic achievement in today's schools has led to far too many kids leaving high school lacking life skills and unprepared for adulthood. It is our hope at Liberty Lake that our CITs & LITs will have the tools necessary to become happy and successful adults.

As Coordinator of the CIT & LIT Programs at Liberty Lake, it has been an absolute pleasure to see the incredible growth of our kids. As one LIT so eloquently stated in her end of the summer survey, “Being an LIT has really changed me. People like Brandon, Erin and BZ have really done a great job inspiring all of us. This summer was unforgettable and I would recommend the LIT program to anyone going into 9th grade.”

Playing Outside (in the Snow), Going the Way of the Outhouse?

With progress comes loss. Indoor plumbing (great invention, by the way) lost the outhouse. But has modern technology at the fingertips of our kids lost PLAYING OUTSIDE (IN THE SNOW)? I couldn't help notice during the week between X-mas & New Year's with a Winter Wonderland outside, my neighborhood was a virtual ghost town. Making snowmen, sledding and snowball fights- replaced by X-Box 360, texting, video chat, 1000 Channel TV, and my personal favorite- TiVo (DVR).

When we were kids (and I hate saying that), it was "The Guiding Light", "As the World Turns" or go outside and play in the snow! Wasn't much of a choice. Heck, we didn't even have VCRs back then- 5 channels of nothing, my baseball card collection, Lincoln Logs- My goodness- We were like cavemen in the 70s!

Thank goodness for outdoor Camps like Liberty Lake that encourage kids to swim in a lake, get muddy, and interact with new kids (face to face). And a shout out to the Cub Scouts who spent yesterday outside in the snow competing in the Klondike. As parents, it's our responsibility to give our kids a push to play. OUTSIDE.

Let us know what you think~

Fall 2010 Update from the Lake

LIBERTY LAKERS!
With temperatures in the 60s today (I wore shorts to Camp), I thought that it would be a good time for a Liberty Lake update!

Liberty Lake is looking beautiful, with colorful leaves both on the ground and on the trees.  Over half of last year's families and team (staff) have already signed back up for 2011.  Last night was our annual Leadership Team Summer Debrief, and after going over the hundreds of Parent, Camper and Team surveys- we have very long lists of ideas and initiatives that we intend to bring to our Liberty Lake families for next summer (many of them YOUR ideas).  Below is a sneak preview of some of those things, as well as two big dates coming up in the very near future

TIME SENSITIVE STUFF FIRST

FRIDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 3rd, 6:30-8:30 -
THE 2010 DVD YEARBOOK PREMIERE PARTY -
AT THE RUTGERS ECO-COMPLEX ACROSS THE STREET FROM LLDC

(you are invited!)  Just like last year, we'll be rolling out the proverbial red carpet for our 2010 Video- Made by the kids, for the kids- with expert assistance (editing) of Justin our Videography Specialist.  This often shakey-cam production is as enjoyable as ever, and as opposed to the last few years- clocks in at a very palatable 50 minutes of non-stop action, laughs, hugs, songs, crazy color war stuff, scary beauty pageant shots, surprises, and a walk through the zombie filled "Trail of Terror" that will have you screaming- with laughs.  Last year was a packed house with lots of friends (and popcorn!) so we hope you can make it.  DVDs will be given out to all 2010 families and team members who attend, and mailed out the next week to the rest- as a holiday present from LLDC to you!

For a Sneak Preview of our 2010 Video, check out the MUSIC VIDEO "At a Camp", with 10-Year Club Member Dwayne Jones leading us in Rap/Song- Click Below:

SUMMER-SUMMER-SUMMER!!!

IT'S OUR 10th ANNIVERSARY!
  • Yes, there will be a 10 Year Club (Brandi will be contacting you shortly), Special Shirts, Special Celebrations!
  • We have a New Website!  For the past 9 years, the Liberty Lake website was run frommy desktop computer on FrontPage 2002.  We've now officially entered the 21st Century, have incorporated lots of thoughts and ideas, and while it's still a "work in progress", by January, we hope to have it where we want it to be.  Check it out- I think you'll see that it's a BIG IMPROVEMENT!  www.libertylakedaycamp.com
  • The New Jersey Renaissance Faire had an AMAZING first season in September!  3000 people turned out in the two weekends to enjoy sword fighting, jousting, boat rides, eccentric vendors, turkey legs, and 35 remarkable actors who truly transformed LLDC into an extraordinary world from the 1500s!  The big news for 2011, is that The NJ Ren Faire will return THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF JUNE- 6/4-5 and 6/11-12.  If you could make it out one of those days, you won't be disappointed!  www.njrenfaire.com
  • We're creating a special little "Turtle Town" Village for our youngest campers!
  • Phase 2 of our landscaping project around the lunch tent- The nice just got nicer!
  • Phase 4 (final phase) of our changing rooms- All campers will have the nice changing rooms in 2011!
  • Entrance Turnaround- Parents dropping off campers late, or picking up early, will have a new turn-around spot that will keep cars away from the campers in a much safer wayfrom this point forward!
  • New railing and fencing system around the pools, down the steps and around SandLand- All nice brown vinyl fencing, with iron rails.
  • Out with the old (concrete) and in with the new!  We've replaced and re-leveled all ofthe slanted or broken concrete slabs around the pool, down near the Snack Shack, alongside the driveway, and out towards the Woods. We're also going to be sealing thepool concrete with a beautiful tinted tan sealant that will look amazing and feel great on our feet!
  • The Willows Volleyball court is gone- replaced permanently by the aptly named "Joust Field".
  • Ga-Ga Tournament finals will be played on the expanded Liberty Lakeside Amphitheater Stage!
  • The Mansfield Township Zoning Board has given us the OK to start applying for permits for the Liberty Dome- The Bubble tent that we purchased two years ago, that had been held up in red tape.
  • High Ropes Additions- High Adventure is getting even better, with a Ropes Traverse Course and Pamper Pole!
  • The 2011 Musical Production will be the ever popular "CAMP ROCK" - April is already refining the show!
  • Our "Leadership Division" of LITs and CITs has taken great steps in the past two years, and with it's increased popularity, we have made a commitment to take it to even higher levels.  Last summer we had over 70 LITs and over 60 CITs- This year  we expect the same, and have a separate online application for our CIT Program to ensure that all participants have the skills and desire to be real leaders at LLDC, and in life.
  • COLOR WAR, our ever-popular 3-day event has not been on the Spirit Calendar for years- as it's more exciting that way.  We will now be doing the same thing (not on calendar) for GOLD RUSH as well- As it will work a lot better with the element ofSURPRISE!!!
  • Gardening Elective- We're growing a huge vegetable garden this year, and we'll be eating our organic results at lunch!
  • Balloon Art Elective, Play Dough Elective!
  • FACEBOOK- Join the Fan Page for notifications, pictures and news-http://www.facebook.com/LLDCFANPAGE

  • TEXTCASTER - Emergency Texting System- Log in today to activate your account, and enable us to contact you in the summer- Will ONLY be used for Emergencies, not promotion or Color War pranks.  CLICK THIS LINKto register as many cell phones as you'd like to receive the emergency notifications.
